Phil & Leah's wedding - Kingaroy Wedding Photographer

The beautifully elegant wedding of Phil and Leah was held on their family property with gorgeous views over the South Burnett region. And how can you go past this cutest little "pageboy" in the whole entire world :)

Artistic Portraits - Kingaroy South Burnett Professional Photographer

Sometimes, when a rush of inspiration strikes (and my kids are willing! lol) I like to do something different to my every day work. Usually it happens when i'm on my own or the kids are at school, but sometimes I'm lucky enough to get it whilst the kids are here and they let me have a bit of a play with my crazy ideas!

Anyhoo, with a few props I have lying around here and there and bit of makeup (sorry Jackson! hehe), these few images came about as a result of crazy hair-brained ideas buzzing around in my head. I'm always looking for willing models, so if you don't mind some crazy photographer wanting to try different things, let me know! :)

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them! :)

Terry & Carmen - Kingaroy South Burnett Wedding Photographer

Terry & Carmen's wedding was elegant. Purely and simply Elegant.
Held at the gorgeous grounds of Taabinga Homestead with vintage cars, stunning gowns, and makeup you could have sworn you stepped back in time. Seriously timeless beauty :)
It sure was a feast for the eyes!

Here are some favourites from their day.

Matt & Lisa's Wedding - Kingaroy South Burnett Wedding Photography

Weddings are always a big family affair...but Matt and Lisa's wedding was probably one of the most close-knit families I've had the pleasure of photographing.
From the time I got to where Lisa was getting ready, all her family (parents, brother, sisters and their family, grandparents, nieces, nephews) were there, laughing, eating, drinking and supporting her on her special day. And it didn't stop there. I had a lot of tears this day...it showed me how a loving family really is.

Matts father was their celebrant too. More tears. And don't get me started on the daddy/daughter dance. Oh my gosh...I almost went into the ugly cry! :)

Some faves from their beautiful day...

Ceremony & Reception at Mulanah Gardens, Kingaroy

DIY Backdrop

So I have been wanting to have a go at painting my own backdrop for a while, and I finally got around to doing it!
It cost around $100 for the materials:
canvas (rubber backed - hardware store)
undercoat - to seal the material and make it easier to blend top coat paint
top coats - 2-3 colours (I used 2) Elephant Run by Brisitsh Paints was the darker..a creamy colour for the lighter
sea sponge
masking tape
old newspaper

Although I underestimated how long it would take (also running out of paint near the end!), it was kinda therapeutic and very rewarding :) I'm super happy with the results too and can't wait to use it more!

And because both my children are home on school holidays, they were able to *model in front of it for me!
*after MUCH bribing ;-)
