Darryl and Monique....

Some friends of my mum and dad's asked me to take their wedding photo's last weekend.....

It was a very hot morning wedding.....with photo's right in the heat of the day.....

But they were SO in love, it didn't seem to make any difference to them!! The groom could hardly take his eyes off his new wife.....it was so sweet.

Fiddling again.......

Seeing as it has been overcast, showery weather, i have been fiddling with a few photo's......If i can't take photo's, then i have to play with photo's, lol!!
I know they look over photoshopped but.....thats what fiddling is all about isn't it??

Anyways, here's Ebony on the trampoline......also a time to practice my photography skills too, he he!!

I have been browsing on Flikr......and i am just so in awe of so many of the talented people on there!! Needless to say, i have been inspired no end!!

And thanks Shelton, if you're reading this, I am working on it!!

Some Kids Photo's.....

Its the start of the holidays and already the kids have been having a ball with their friends! And who can resist kids photo's right??

Just a little braggin'.....

A few months ago, I entered a photo competition for our local shire council. We had to submit photo's that we'd taken of our town and surrounding areas......Well i got a letter the other day to say that two of my photo's (i put in four) had won in three categories!!

This one of the old buildings on the main street of Nanango won the Urban Architecture category:>>

And this one of the old Dairy Co-Op won two categories.....105 Years of Nanango Shire Council and Overall Runner-Up!!

The pictures are going to be used in the Annual Report that goes around our Shire.....I know its not much but its pretty exciting all the same, lol!!

It's Jackson's last week of being a Grade 2'er......it has been a fantastic year, all thanks to this wonderful teacher....Miss Jodie Turley......She was new to the school at the beginning of this year and she was a real breath of fresh air to have around. They have never had 3 teachers before at our little school but she just fit right in and all the kids loved her!!

But she is now being transferred next year............so we are very sad that she will be leaving us.....but we wish you all the best Jodie.......Thank you SO much for being such a great teacher to our kids......WE WILL MISS YOU!!!

A little pressie for my Ma and Pa

It was mum and dad's anniversary last month.....so i made them this album that i got from a shopping expedition in Bris.
I had such a ball creating this (and it was also great using up a heap of leftover supplies too......added bonus, lol!!).
It has a double page for each month of next year with a photo on one side and the month on the other with enough room to write in the little boxes.
Well i gave it to mum and dad when we went out for tea to celebrate their anniversary.....and they absolutely loved it......well, mum did....you know what men are like, lol!! (DAD - "yeah its great Char", in his not so enthusiastic voice!!!)

In other news.....we have just come back from a weeks holiday at the Sunshine Coast......a much needed break and also as a promise to Jackson as we didn't allow him to go on School Camp this year (because they didn't want us parents to go this time.......and he is still only just 7!!) We all had a lovely time......swimming, playing tennis, eating, mini golf, eating.......oh and did i say eating, lol!! Oh and lots of cocktails by the pool.......AAaaaahhh!!!

I will post some pics when i get a chance to edit them

Thats is for now........

Oh i thought i better say too that the kids now realise that Jess isn't coming back.....and they are ok with that.......but now the cat is missing since we have gone away (there are alot of dingoes around here at the moment......so its' not looking good!!)

So we might be in for a couple of new pets........

An Ode to Jess.......

Well our dog Jess is no longer with us......she passed away yesterday (thankfully while the kids were up at Grandma's place!!

Actually, they still don't know........i haven't been able to bring myself to tell them.......I am just waiting till they ask where she is!!

I know.......it is terrible.......but sometimes she goes AWOL and DH and I agreed to say we are not sure where she is (well I AM telling the truth.......i really don't know where DH put her......i didn't want to know!!)

Is that bad or not??......i don't know.......but, man, i have never had to tell them before anything like this.

So far, they haven't asked.......

It won't be long tho..........

A Weekend at Roma........

Our trip out to Roma was so much fun. We went out for the Spirit of the Bush Concert - which was to raise money and awareness for drought afftected farmers. Lee Kernaghan was the main drawcard but there was also Steve Ford, Adam Brand, Leo Sayer, Sunny Cowgirls, and a few other country singers.

It was a fantastic concert. The kids absolutely loved it.....this is their second time to one of Lee's concerts......our 13th.....and we LOVE it every time we see him!! He puts on such an awesome show every single time too!!

What made it even better was that we got to MEET Lee - in person - out the back in the VIP section........its WHO you know, you know, lol!! (We have a friend who is a friend of Lee's!) So that topped off a great day for us!!

Here's Darryl and Lee.....chatting like they were best buddies, lol!!

Jackson got his hat signed and Ebs got two hugs from Lee so they were both sooooo stoked about all that!!

We also got to meet Leo Sayer (man, he's got some hair on HIM!!) but we just missed out on Adam Brand as he had to rush onto the stage for his bit (damn!!)

After the concert, our friend (who is Lee's friend) told us there was an after party at one of the pubs in town.......so we couldn't pass THAT up!! The kids were taken home to bed (thanks Sonya and Ang) and the rest of us partied on till the wee hours with the celebs!! Haven't done THAT for a while either.......I'm still trying to catch up on lost sleep, lol!!

Roma is a nice town (there's a nice winery too!!).....but a bit too far out for my liking!! And HOT!! And toooo many flamin' flies!! Darryl loved it.....i knew he would!!

Congrats LEEANN!!!!!!!

Well i just wanted to say a

...HUGE CONGRATULATIONS...

Not Much to Tell.....

Well i haven't blogged for a little while cause i haven't really got much to tell.......

I haven't been anywhere too exciting......or done anything too exciting either!! How boring is THAT!!

I HAVE been checking out the talent that is in the gallery at Scrapboxx lately though!! With the search for a new DT Member, it really has brought out the BEST in everyone......which is great for the rest of because we get to see all the fantastic eye candy!!.......and get lots of inspiration too!!

So good luck to all the girls entering.......cause soon you'll get to be working with THE best DT in the country........well, ok, i am slightly biased, lol!!!

Oh, and the Scrapboxx Retreat 2008 is open for bookings too!! I am crossing my fingers that i can go...........just waiting on the ok from hubby!!

I had the opportunity in the last Scrapboxx newsletter of a photo swap with the ever gorgeous and talented Erica Glover.......we had to scrap each others photo's.......

Well i tell you, it is SO hard to scrap someone elses photo!! At least if its your own it doesn't really matter if it turns out crap........but for someone else......especially for someone like
THE Erica Glover......you want it to be pretty much perfect!!! So here's what i did with her photo of her son Josh>>>

She scrapped a photo of Ebony....which of course is just FANTASTIC......

I think i got the better end of the deal.....thanks heaps Erica!!

In the Mood to Share........

I wanted to get some photo's of Jackson....now that he has just turned 7....oh man, he is growing...he has even grown in centimetres (which he is MORE excited about, lol!) He is the smallest in his class and most of the Prep kids are taller than him, so he loves it when the wall chart shows he has grown even 1 cm!! But what he lacks in height, he more than makes up for in brains!!

Just look at him.........how GORGEOUS are those freckles!! I LOVE you Jackson!!

And not to be left out of getting a photo, is Miss Poser herself!!

She wanted to get dressed in her ballerina tu tu and get some photo's too!! And she wanted to wear her top that she says, "shows my skin", lol!! Look out in about 10 years time!!

Oh and i also wanted to share with you my LO using the new Book of Me Kit from Scrapboxx.......the pp's in this are sooooooo gorgeous........

Its not very often Darryl and I get a photo together, so i thought i had better do a LO with it, lol!!

And also this LO from the weekly challenge at Scrapboxx - "Old Photo's"

It is my mum when she was 12 or 13.......she was bridesmaid for her brothers wedding......Isn't she just beautiful.......I LOVE this photo of her!!

Well, its a lazy HOT Saturday afternoon here.......i think i might go and have a snooze, lol!!

I Finally Have a Minute........

These school holidays have just flown by!! I have had my nephew Calypso up here for most of the holidays and he has gone home today.....which is always sad......we love having him here!! You can sure tell the difference by having another child around tho!!

Here's a couple of pics of the three kids........they just love each other soooo much!!

We also had a kids party on Monday........23 kids and 14 mum's!! I don't think i will be doing THAT again for a while tho!!

Don't get me wrong.....it was a great day......but by the end of it.......i was absolutely exhausted!! Still am.......i think i need 3 days to get over it, lol!! Oh and i never even got ONE photo.....that's how busy i was.....that is DEFINITELY NOT like me to not get a photo!!
So, only another few days and the kids will be back at school. Back to the grind. Back to packing lunches. Back to normal, lol!!

School Holidays Are Here!!

Well its that time again...............school holidays............man, it seems like they only just had holidays.........i am sure they have more than when i was at school!!

But, its all good.......i like having the kids home - cause it means i don't have to wash and iron uniforms, make lunches and generally have nice and non-rushed mornings.......and SLEEP IN!!

Now all i have to do is try and keep them busy!!!!!!

Yesterday, the Prep's and Grade 1's had an excursion in to Yarraman to see a travelling "farm" - Old McDonalds Farm - and they could pet the animals and feed & brush them. Ebs was absolutely in her element..........she just LOVES animals as you can see>>>>>>>>

They have all been looking forward to it for a couple of weeks......don't know why cause most of the kids have all these animals at home anyway..................but somehow its "different".

They also had other activites, ie...face painting, make & takes, etc....

All in all, they had a ball though!

*Ebony- "If that was Old McDonalds Farm, where was Old McDonald?"

Well, what can you say to that, because there WAS NO men there?

*Me - "He must of sent Mrs McDonald instead while he stayed on the farm!!"

*Ebony - "Oh yeah" ...looking very satisfied with that, lol!!!

..........................................................................................................................................................

The other day, while on our walk, i took this pic overlooking our farm........gorgeous hey!!

Well...thats it for now

Wayne and Selby....

I photographed Wayne and Selby's wedding on the weekend....Here's a couple of pics......

It was a lovely wedding, and the weather was just glorious at Caloundra!!

Jackson has been practising for his soccer finals.......he's plays today, so fingers crossed!!

School holidays this weekend.......so i guess not much work will be getting done in the next couple of weeks, lol!! Will be trying to keep the kids entertained!! Hopefully my nephew, Calypso will be coming up to stay......the kids just love having him stay here!!

With the warmer weather, brings lots of weeds, planting and mowing.....which i really love......mmmm, the smell of freshly cut grass.....weird, i know, lol!!

Oh and i have to tell you we got some good news regarding the Coal Conveyor Belt that was in the process of coming through our land - ITS NOT NOW!!!!!! Needless to say we are VERY happy about that.......

So now, that we don't have to move, i have a list of things i want to get done around the house...ie, painting, putting a deck on...... thats just for starters!!

Anyway, got tons to do

1st Tooth Lost!!!

Well after months of wiggling his first loose tooth.....Jackson has finally lost it!! He was ssoooooooo so excited.....he is the last one in his class to lose a tooth, so we made a really big deal about it and he was just chuffed!! Now Ebony is trying to wiggle hers to see if there's any loose, LOL!!!

Scrapboxx has a new Newsletter out.....Check it out here HERE. Its a great read and I also have a couple of LO's in there....;o)

And a friend emailed me a satellite pic of our farm from GoogleEarth...i think it is amazing!! And its just lucky i wasn't hanging out the washing in my undies that day, ROFL!!!!!

The red circle is our house....This was taken probably a month or so ago before we had the rain......so it looks really terrible....no grass, just dirt.....but now you wouldn't know it......SO green and lush!! We live across the road from the forrestry, so we are nice and secluded there!! And we overlook the Bunya Mtns......(looking out towards the top left of the pic) Aahh the serenity!! And yes.....our property is called "Bonnie Doon" too (anyone seen "The Castle")

Anyways that is it from me for today

Spring is here!!

The past few days have just been glorious here......so Ebony and I have been out in the garden, pulling out weeds, pruning wayward bushes and pulling out plants that have had their day.......and getting some photos of course!!

We also found a little frog....which Ebony says she "saved" and he now lives under one of our tank stands in his "new home", lol!!

And finally, little (getting big) Molly and Jess, were "helping" us too

I just love this time of the year......there's new growth on all the plants....lots of flowers.....and there's SO MANY little calves being born here too..... just love it!

I LOVE SPRING!!
